When you work with me, you’re getting so much more than a photographer who simply shows up and shoots a few photos. You’re getting an elevated, personalized family photography experience. I’m based in Golden and regularly work with families from Boulder, Arvada, Denver, Aurora, and throughout Colorado’s Front Range to create wall-worthy family portraits.

A family photography experience designed to feel easy

Most parents worry about the same thing before booking family portraits:

Will my kids cooperate?
What if we feel awkward in front of the camera?
How do we make this feel natural instead of posed?

I firmly believe family photography works best when nobody feels pressured.

I guide sessions in a way that feels relaxed and unhurried, allowing your family to interact naturally while I document genuine expressions, movement, and the in-between moments that often become the most meaningful photographs.

The result is a collection of images that feel deeply personal.

Family photography questions and answers

Honestly, that’s completely normal and something I expect during almost every family session.
Kids do best when they’re allowed to move, explore, and interact naturally instead of being asked to stand perfectly still and smile at the camera. My approach to family photography is built around keeping sessions relaxed so your children can simply be themselves while I capture the moments as they happen.
Some of the best family photos come from the in-between moments parents usually don’t plan for.
I photograph families throughout Denver and Colorado’s Front Range, including Golden, Arvada, Boulder, Lakewood, and nearby areas.
Most sessions take place outdoors at parks, open spaces, foothill locations, or scenic areas that give us beautiful natural light and plenty of room for kids to move around comfortably.
If you already have a favorite location in mind, I’m always happy to work there too.
The best family photos usually come from outfits that feel comfortable and natural rather than overly formal.
After booking, I’ll help guide you through wardrobe recommendations so everyone looks coordinated without matching too heavily. Neutral tones, earth colors, and simple textures tend to photograph beautifully in Colorado’s outdoor landscapes.
The goal is helping your family feel comfortable while creating photos that look timeless years from now.
Most family photography sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes.
That gives us plenty of time without pushing younger kids past their attention span. Sessions move at a relaxed pace so there’s room for breaks, movement, and letting moments happen naturally instead of rushing through a long shot list.
